Every morning, the model compares Cardiff's current conditions against thousands of similar past days — analyzing solar radiation ramp rate, UV index, inland temperature gradient, and onshore wind patterns. These are the true signals of a marine layer clearing — not just humidity.

Data flows in real-time from 3 Ambient Weather stations forming a coastal-to-inland transect: West Cardiff (beach), East Cardiff, and Rancho Santa Fe (~8 mi inland). The bigger the solar ramp and temperature gap, the more likely the marine layer lifts.
